Welcome to the Young Chef of the Year Award, which your child/children’s school may be delivering this year.
The award covers the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum for ‘Cooking and Nutrition’, develops pupil’s chef skills, encourages food awareness and healthy eating.
The award focuses on pupil’s designing a ‘Meal for their Hero’. The meal includes a soup, main course, dessert and drink within a £10 budget, which they make during week 6.
To support pupils completing the challenge at home you’ll find below recipe videos and cards, which will also be discussed at school.
Have fun supporting your child/children in the kitchen and ‘Let’s get Cooking!
If you’d like further inspiration to get cooking at home you can purchase our book ‘Heat-Free and Healthy’, which contains 40 exciting simple and nutritious heat free recipes including breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, wraps, dips, snacks, desserts and drinks.
